Quilts come in all shapes and sizes, so when it comes to determining the size, the main questions to answer are, what or who are you making the quilt for?

The minimum size for a twin quilt is 58" x 85". Keep in mind that a Twin XL mattress is 5" longer than a regular mattress so you'll want a quilt for a Twin XL bed to be at least 58" x 90". Twin quilts can be up to 81" x 105" (or 81" x 111" for Twin XL). In that case, it could be a smallish queen size quilt too - that's okay!
